I’ve been involved with musical projects of one form or another since I started playing at the tail end of the 1980s. Each has played its part in a long and varied journey which continues to this day.

Play On gathers together the bands, projects, people and experiences that have shaped that journey.

These projects are arranged as a rough route through the years, but the lines aren’t always straight. Some bands overlapped, some returned later and some developed alongside one another.

These are my memories of the road travelled, told from my own perspective. Everyone involved will naturally have their own experiences and recollections, and I welcome anything that adds another piece to the story.

Looking back through it all has been fascinating. Some projects lasted years, others barely made it out of the rehearsal room, but each left something behind and helped shape whatever came next.

I’m still making music and creating new memories, so in that sense this section will probably never really be finished.

Once you begin a musical journey, perhaps it never truly ends.
